While turning on the water, something caught my eye, probably the bright yellow color. I thought it was a lady bug crawling along the edge of a cement building block. On closer inspection, it was a very tiny spider. It was about the width of a pencil eraser. Some of you may have them as a common sight where you live. We see the evidence of them in large webs, but we seldom see the actual spider.
This was a first for me. I have been working on some programs for a few days, then decided I needed to get outside for a bit. I was going to rinse the dust off the car, and try to make it look a little more presentable.
This one is sitting on the edge of the cement block, I hope it gives some reference. The horns or spikes are amazing looking when viewed in a picture enlarged.
It seems like spiders just have a thing for me this month.

More spiders, Ron! At least this one is more interesting, and much less scary. I don’t think we have them here, so it was an education to see your photos.
Best wishes, Pete.
I never have been fond of spiders, I hate walking into the large webs. I do a really freaky dance after walking into one.
Wow! I’ve never seen one like that. What a beautiful spider!
It is beautiful in it’s own way. Thank you for the comment.
Looks crab-like. I don’t think we have them here but it is interesting.
That was my first thought, crab-like. Thanks for the comment Kate!
As you say: “It seems like spiders just have a thing for me this month.” I think you are right. No spider is beautiful, yik. They all give me the creeps. We had a black widow hanging around the church door out at Cope. I made one of the fellas kill it. He barely did, I think he only knocked him out. I don’t see him anymore. yikes. We have a lot of black widow spiders here in Colorado. Wonder why they hang out here.
Hi Sandy! We have a small crop of the black widows here, I have them dust under the trailer when the bug man comes out. Some type of spider dust they use.
What an amazing sight. We have nothing like that and my grandson was very intrigued when I showed him.
If I see another, I will try for some nice shots of it. It is strange looking, almost like it’s from another planet. Thanks Elizabeth.
I’ve never seen one like this. It’s kind of pretty in a creepy spider way. 🙂
Your right, it is beautiful with the colors, in that creepy spider way. I thought it was a lady bug at first. Thanks for the comment Kathy.
Eeek! I have arachnophobia! 🙂
Me too, Mer, me too!!
I just watched that movie Arachnophobia last night. Appreciate the comment magicmermaid.
WOW, what an exotic-looking spider! I almost don’t hate it!! 😀
Dare I say, emphasis on the ALMOST.
You know it!!!
Gorgeous spider!
I like looking at them in pictures, not so much up close though.
I prefer not to see spiders and could easily wish them out of existence. Your is rather cute.
I agree, it was rather colorful. Thanks Anne.
