Waffle House has adopted a Nationwide NO GUN Policy for it’s stores. Waffle Houses are getting rougher all the time, especially late at night when you have the thugs and bar crowd coming in to eat after a rowdy night on the town. Read this recent incident.
I don’t frequent them late at night anymore, having grown older and wiser. In light of a recent robbery attempt in one, where a patron saved many by shooting the armed robbery suspect,
Waffle House has decided that they don’t want legally carried weapons in their stores. This should receive a warm welcome from the criminal element once word gets out, that Waffle House has no protection unless you actually see a uniformed officer in there eating. Read this article if you really think former armed felons will care about Waffle House policy or not.
Now, do you think this will make Waffle House safer? Or a better target for criminals. I sent an email to Waffle House expressing my 2 cents about their new policy. As you know, since our near car-jacking experience this past year, we don’t go many places at night without one of us having a weapon concealed (with legal concealed permit of course).
My Email to them:
I have been an avid patron of Waffle House for many years. My wife was once a Manager of several Waffle Houses. As a former police officer I broke up two disturbances in just one month while eating there on duty.
After leaving police work, I thwarted a planned robbery of a Waffle House by recognizing criminal activity (casing the store) and reporting it to the authorities, the persons caught were suspects in a shooting robbery that had occurred earlier that week. This was after I had left police work and my wife was a Manager at the store about to be robbed. I was not armed at that time. This was 12 years ago, things have only gotten worse.
The wife and I both carry legally concealed weapons now for protection late at night. It has recently come to my attention that Waffle House has adopted a “No Firearms” policy nationwide. This not only saddens me but disturbs me as well. If I am unable to protect myself and my family in your restaurant, I will be unable to spend my hard earned money there as well.
I have no problem following the State laws where Firearms are concerned but I will not support a business that does not allow a law abiding citizen the constitutional right to provide personal protection in today’s society.
