Things are changing here, in the trailerhood. The ex-maintenance man looks older and very tired, as he sits on a tree stump near the edge of the roadway. He’s there every morning just before the sun rises. Waiting for his ride to work. He always worked hard around here, doing things others would never do for a paltry sum.
Since virtual school started, you don’t see as many kids waiting for the school bus. There are just two that catch the bus currently. I guess many have moved out of the park.
We have some great people in our little cluster near us. The folks behind us, across from us, and the guy next door, are all great people, hard workers. Considerate of others. The type anyone would want as neighbors.
Across the way about 2 units down, there is a unit with kids, and the father works on vehicles near the back door. He seems to work all the time in evenings and weekends. You’ll see his work light shining from under a vehicle he is working on. I guess they are side jobs, besides his regular employment. You never hear noise from there as he works. I haven’t seen him, or any vehicles that he might be working on in days. I hope they are alright.
Me? I’m sitting here watching the traffic out front. Sipping some warm coffee, and rubbing the head of my faithful dog. He likes to stand next to me and rest his chin on the desk and peer out the window.
I suppose it’s time for me to get a second cup of coffee, and start planning my day. I hope your day is a great one.
Good to know life has calmed down in the park, and you are currently content with your neighbours. Our windows are set too high for Ollie to look out of, so he puts his chin on my knee instead. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.
It has settled down some, Pete. I like my neighbors, but that is as far as I go. I just stay to myself, keep my head down. Hoping we catch a break somewhere down the line, and can get an acre somewhere off to itself and maybe a small house. That would be perfect. Thanks for the comment, and give Ollie a pat on the head.
Life sounds pretty sweet… made sweeter by your faithful dog. Enjoy your day!
I do love my ole boy. He is the sanity in this uncertain world, or year we have muddled through. Thanks for the comment, Janis. Always brings a smile to my face when I see you.
Glad to hear you have good neighbors although that eliminates some blog stories! Have a great day!
Oh, I have a feeling the stories will pick up one day. We have people moving in, that are well, different. One care looks like it came out of a movie about street racers in the Mad Max movie. Another is a large SUV, with a lift kit, and the “Carolina Squat” where the front of the vehicle is jacked up way higher than the back. Another new small car that sits about 4 inches off the ground. With fluorescent orange wheels.
I’ve seen those orange wheels locally. Not sure why you would put them on. Maybe just not my cuppa tea.
Hehe, I don’t think it’s tea these ole boys are drinking. He just left out of here, sounded like he was doing 100mph. I don’t think he reached above 25mph before he turned into the store down the road.
It sounds like your day was off to a good start. Way to go!
Yes, Anne. It was a great day.
Can’t go wrong when you have a faithful dog’s head to rub! Pretty dog!
I love my faithful dog. Thanks, Joy. He is a handsome boy.
I like seeing your faithful companion resting its head near you. It sounds like a relaxing morning, the reward for those years of toil
Wonderful how dogs can make you feel relaxed. Unconditional love, that seems to have no end.
Yes, this is very true the way they look at you and don’t leave your side. It is a very special bond.
We just moved from a condo to a house mostly because of neighbors. It was part of the grand plan to move to a house but I was hoping we would be happy in the condo without the worries and expense of a house. I’m happy you have a faithful dog’s head to rub. I think it would be nice for us to have another cat to curl up in my lap. Have a good Sunday, Ron!
One of these days, we will escape from here. We will get further into the country with a small place that is easy to maintain. Then we can just relax in a chair on the porch, and remanence.
I really love to think of you, Michelle and the dogs out on a nice acre with a little house. I suppose you could get a manufactured one for not too exorbitant a price. You must already have to pay a park fee, so maybe it wouldn’t be too terribly more.
That, is our plan. I would love an old house like a small farm house, but will take what I can get, even a small single wide manufactured. As long as it isn’t falling in like this one.
I am rooting for you.
Hi Ron! I’m just catching up. Looks like that was a hazy, lazy kinda day for you, the 22nd. Well the next day, Friday, is the day I picked up my new iMac! SO GREAT!!! It has 1 TB of storage in an SSD. So everything happens instantly!! Also a very speedy processor – 3.6 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i3. I don’t understand one letter or number of that, but all i know is, it’s FAST! Look, I waited 12 years for this, so I deserve it, I figure. Costs a bundle but that’s what a credit line is for. Luckily I have one, and the interest rate is MUCH lower than my Visa credit card. So I’ll pay it off over time, no worries. I’m soooo happy! As if you couldn’t tell! LOL!
Waiting that long for a new one, you truly deserve it. That sounds like a great, no make that a super machine with 1 TB of SSD (Solid State Drive). The processor is wicked fast as well. Enjoy it.
