Soggy Saturday, and Streaming (YouTube)

It seems we are getting a rain band, from the tropical disturbance that has made its way into MS. We have a tornado watch for the entire state of Alabama, today. I’m enjoying the slow sleepy rain and the cloud cover. If I can’t have Fall right now, at least I can enjoy slightly cooler temps.

Mad as a “Wet Hen”

I was just getting ready, but not quite set up yet to stream to You
Tube, when a girl came walking down the front drive dripping wet, in what was a moderate rain failing at that moment. She looked pretty angry. Probably a wife, or late teen that had just finished an argument with someone, and walked off. Here’s hoping she has a big towel once she calms down.

T-Rex

Grandson, who is nine, spent the night with us and he and I made some fun T-Rex cutouts. He gets a kick out of them, walking around the office watching the illusion of them following him with their head and eyes.

I watched this video on exactly how to fold them.

Live-Steaming Experiment

I’m still trying my hand at live-streaming. I find it hard to just talk to myself, as if I’m talking to others. They say that is what you have to get used to, until you get some followers that happen across your stream and become semi, or regular watchers. It will be a fun experiment. After all, I blogged for about four years or so, until I found all of you on the WordPress community, through the WordPress Reader.

You never know what people are interested in. Myself, I find it entertaining to just drop in on YouTubers, that have someone talking about current events, and they answer questions posed in the chat box. Those can be interesting. I’m not into conspiracy streams, there is enough in life without all that. It takes all walks of life, to do streams. Some are instructional, some are just to keep others company I suppose.

I come across some, that are just gamers that stream the game play as they are playing. Many of them play for hours. There are actually people that frequent the streams, and chat. Maybe they just enjoy the friendship, and interaction. Some like watching aquariums, or squirrels from time to time. My squirrels, have vacated the area. I observed two a couple of days ago on the porch rail, but they never went to the food bowl.

Time to get back to browsing the Internet, listening to the police scanner. Perhaps something will come up here in the park, or within driving distance that I can make material of.

Comments always welcome.

  1. Ron, those dinosaurs are brilliant! They really do follow you around the room!
It is the 17th day (and night) of rain here. (Forecast to continue until at least Wednesday) I honestly don’t care if I never see another raindrop as long as I live.
    Best wishes, Pete.

    1. Rained all morning here, and still raining. We had a gust of wind around 25mph earlier, but only one so far. I hope the rain eases off for you.

I’m glad you liked the dinosaurs. They sure entertain the grandkids.

    1. I hear it takes awhile to get noticed and followers. If it gives someone pleasure, or lets them travel to a real place virtually, and makes them happy, then it’s worth my effort.

Thanks for the comment, Anne. Much appreciated.

    1. Glad you like them, Elizabeth. I ran across them about 3 years ago, while looking for something else.

I have updated the post to include the video I watched to help me fold them properly, also included a file, that has three of them of different colors. You just print the one you want, and cut it out.

Live-Streaming, is allowing my webcams to broadcast the picture to the internet via YouTube. Anyone that wishes can view it. The views I have change from time to time, of the highway out front. My office, front porch, sometimes the various pets Michelle raises or rescues. Like Guinea Pigs, Sugar Gliders, Fish, or reptiles. Sometimes I talk about things, current news. Or share reviews on things I have bought.

Not interesting to some, but some just enjoy visiting to a place somewhere in the world. There is a one way chat, where people can enter a question, or say hello, and i can type back, or i can answer them by voice while I show them on the screen, how to do it. I just had a thought, it would be perfect for helping some with the new block editor. I may start scheduling some times to do that.

If you want to follow for a while, or anyone does, just click the video in the sidebar, follow it to YouTube.
If you have questions about the dinosaurs, or the stream, just let me know.

  2. Cute T-Rexes, Ron! I understand your YouTube feelings – talking ‘to yourself’ – lol! I did a reading from one of my books at a ‘virtual publishing conference’ – and had no idea how many people were watching me – 10? 4? zero?! It’s online now if you have 16:13 to waste. 😉 https://youtu.be/0XS5lG09dic

    1. That was very good, Ellie! You came across very well, I hope I am able to do that in the future, present a calm and positive presence.

      Thanks for sharing that.

      1. Oh thanks Ron! When I saw this I was worried – how could people have heard me?! My voice sounded so soft to me – not enough power & projection, u know? But putting the volume up helped somewhat… were you able to make out what I was saying? ?

  3. The T-Rexes are cute Ron – no wonder your grandson got such a kick out of them. Did you read or hear about Stan, the T-Rex whose bones sold last week for $32 million. Makes you wonder why unless you plan to open up a museum. We had an interactive dinosaur exhibit at one of the large parks here and tickets were going like hotcakes. They made the event drive-through with a chance to have a picture with a dinosaur at the end if you wanted.

This is the story of Stan:

    1. This being the Trailerhood, I wonder if I could make a larger one out of plywood, and sell tickets here. They could video it’s eyes following them, as they drove through.

Stan had a rough life, didn’t he. Broken neck, punctured skull. Ouch!

      1. That would be fun to try Ron – you have the video equipment to take videos – you could offer amenity as an add-on to the general ticket price.

Yes, poor thing …you don’t think of a T-Rex being on the receiving end of medical issues but more likely the upright and roaring mighty dinosaur we’ve always seen through the years.
