US Flag, displayed upside down in the Trailerhood.

It has been quiet here in the park for a while now. Yesterday, I was shocked to notice the American Flag that has flown at a trailer near us, being flown upside down. I find this disconcerting because I really don’t know the people, and this could be an innocent display of support of our country besieged by the virus crisis. I still don’t like the flag flown upside down for anything but a dire emergency on the part of the owner of the flag. There isn’t any no room in my heart, for those that use it for political statements.

I searched online for a current reason, and found nothing other than older information that some persons that don’t agree with President Trump, and think he is a threat, fly it upside down in protest. Then even more disturbing, I find that the KKK and other subversive groups fly it upside down. I guess I have been living under a rock for a while.

According to legal rulings

Not all of us living here are redneck idiots, salivating for the next drunken weekend bonfire. This really others me, like a stone in my shoe. My first instinct, was perhaps they were in trouble. Being a former cop, my “Spidey Sense” went off the scale when I spotted it. The flag, since its appearance at the unit in the last month, has always flown right side up. According to legal rulings, they can fly it that way as an expression. So you can no longer assume that the owner needs immediate assistance

Some people are just, pitiful.

Mom always told us, not to borrow trouble. However, I can’t help but wonder, is this an over zealous political person/activist? Or a radical that hates everything, and is a hair trigger away from going postal in the park. Some people are just, pitiful. Doing my best to ignore it, and respect their rights, but it really galls me each time I go out back for something and see it. My father served in WWII, my older brother served three tours in Vietnam, and my brother and I spent a combined 50 years in police work.

How would you handle it. Ask them if you run into them? Or just leave them alone. Me? I have no use for them. It’s just wrong to use a symbol that so many have died protecting, as an expression of dislike. </rant off>

Yard Sale and entertainment. Trailerhood Style.

Nothing like an early morning yard sale on a Saturday. Especially, when you can have some entertainment at the same time. This past Saturday, we set up a small yard sale about 1000 feet down the road, in a small clearing near the storage buildings. Around 6:30 am I heard what sounded like two gun shots. I thought perhaps it was a hunter in the woods across the road.

About 30 seconds later, we see a stocky white male running around the front of the house in this picture about 200 feet from us, and then run around behind the house, as if he were hiding. Moments later he reappears from behind the house, looking like a squirrel trying to dodge an oncoming vehicle. Sprints across the yard and jumps the fence, then runs towards our trailerhood. The area is soon swarmed by sheriff’s deputies. We learn that the two shots were fired by a homeowner of the house that the young man was trying to break into.

To make his day even worse

The county finally located and apprehended him in the trailer-park, he probably lives or stays with someone in the park. He was more than likely looking to score some easy loot, to sell for crack. To make his day even worse, after being shot at, he starts having chest pains and goes into a full-blown panic attack. An ambulance arrives and checks him out, then he is carted off to jail. He may have had a worse day, had he attempted to rob us of the change we had for the yard sale instead of burglarizing a house. I had a weird feeling that morning, so carried my licensed concealed firearm, as did Michelle.

It’s a sad statement of our society, when you have to arm yourself just to have a yard sale. Yes, Spring is here, the weirdos are starting to thaw out.

Freaky Friday, Twilight Zone in the Trailer Park.

Hello Blogging friends, it’s been a rather quiet Friday as they go. I was trying some new software, half of the graphics, graphs and options (weather software) were not working. The developer of it had no idea, nor anyone else in the support forum. After 5 hours of searching and testing, I found one, apostrophe, had confused the entire software. Where was it at? In front of me the whole time. Ron’s Country Weather. I wanted to kick my own apostrophe!

People shouting in the park, dogs barking next to us. They normally don’t bother me. Today there came a point, when I was about to ask Michelle if there was money enough in the bank for bail. This evening we had a wreck down the road, man was thrown from his pickup that rolled, and he hit a tree with his body, killed him instantly. Down the road about 2 miles, and within a mile of one another, a couple of people lost their marbles and had to be chased down. I’m beginning to think, maybe I should get the plastic sheets and tape out, seal the house up. It might be in the air.

How do you blow yourself up with a cream soda drink. Give it to my mother-in-law. I heard the load boom/kapow all the way in my office with the door closed. She says it just burst when she took the top off. It didn’t take a forensic genius to figure out from all the liquid, that she apparently dropped it, Then decided to open it. The bottle didn’t burst, but we never found the cap to it. It was loud, so it was close to exploding the bottle itself.

Right now, I have some unhealthy Krystal Hamburgers about to arrive, and I am going to chow down. I hope all of you had a nice Friday.

Plenty of news from the Trailer Park Kingdom.

This is Thursday, I am behind on Trailer Park News, but it had been a pretty calm month for September.

This past Friday, someone had apparently celebrated too much, and in an unskilled maneuver, managed to drive through the ditch in front of our yard. They were attempting to go out of the park onto the highway, but turned way too early. I have no idea how they managed to drive through a cement ditch and not be a total wreck. They were able to continue on going though. I caught a glimpse of a pickup truck speeding away. The vehicle was heading away from the camera in this photo.  No sign of brakes applied before hitting the ditch. The two grooves seen closest to the camera, are from the under-frame.

Saturday, Johnny Reb was obviously upset over management planning to move his “South shall rise again” abode, to the back of the park. The sheriff was called out to check on him, he was reported to be mentally unstable by his mother who had tried to talk to him on the phone. He has recently had a leg removed, and gets around now in a motorized wheel-chair. He showed some skill early Saturday as he motored around his lot in the wheel-chair, guiding his self-propelled lawn mower ahead of him. Impressive.

Speaking of mowing the grass, a young lady on the back row that works all the time, threatened bodily harm to the park maintenance man (David) who was riding his mower that is minus a muffler, and cutting her yard at 5:30am. He’s a nice guy all in all, but sometimes, I think he is a couple of fries short of a full happy meal.

Saturday evening and Sunday provided entertainment on the main highway in the form of high speed chases (three) that I would hear heading this way. I would go outside, or watch out the window as they sped by. I’m thinking of putting some lawn chairs, and a couple of pink flamingos out in the yard and sell tickets to the action.

Sunday early, we had screaming and shouting out front, between a guy and his girl. There are times, that I am glad my hearing has decreased some.

It gets quiet around here for a while, and then all sorts of things start hopping, or course it was nearly a full moon this past weekend.

They went up $25 more on the lot rent here, so I guess it is to pay for the quality entertainment. None of it bothers me now. I’m medicated. Now, if I can just get a network interested in another reality show, I could probably get out of this asylum.
