Freaky Friday in the Trailer Park

Well, last week was quiet as days in a Trailer Park go, ever since the owner kicked a few people out it has been sort of quiet. That changed early today with the County Sheriff Deputies rolling quickly into the park. There were two cars and apparently they had a warrant for someone but did not find them.

A few moments ago an Ambulance was called to that same address for difficulty breathing. There is hardly ever any quiet nights on the weekend, but that is what Trailer Park Life is. A hodge podge of people living near one another with multiple personalities to contend with. The ones down the road that had the knife fight in the front yard were evicted and run off by the owner of the Park.

I’m just glad we have good neighbors around us. This is my first ever experience living in a Park other than a short stint when I was a young Police Officer and roomed with another Officer, and it will be my last. I guess it’s time for me to do some more video editing while the house is quiet and nothing going on.

Tomorrow may be an interesting day.

  1. I know where you’re coming from. I lived in mobile home parks for 20 years- never a dull moment. Even here, in the apartments, we periodically see the county patrol cars sitting in the parking lot, occasionally a city patrol car.

Strangely, when I had my house for 20 years, I only had 2 visits from the police.

  2. Whoo !
Interesting life, Ron. I am not sure if I would like a mobile life though. Can you move your trailer to other parks or is this the only park in which your trailer is allowed ?

    1. I know I don’t like it. In one year we will have the double wide totally paid for. At that time we plan to purchase some land and move it so we can have some privacy. There are several trailer parks around here that allow double wides. Moving can run about $2,000 just for the move, not including other things that come up. Thanks for the comment Susie, I’m glad your enjoying the park posts! 🙂

      1. I enjoy all your posts, Ron but the ones about Trailer park living, I am enjoying a lot, never having read any such in my life. I think this is solid material for a book.
Something titled like ” Trailer park life- reminisces”.

PS : What is a double wide ?
I am not up to Trailer jargon- yet.
In the olden days, in England there were people who lived on the canals and travelled up and down- they had wonderful adventures- your life somehow reminds me of that life.

        1. A double wide is two halves joined together. Where the common mobile home is one unit about 14 to 17 feet wide and 40 to 60 feet long. A double wide, (also known as a modular home) can be 28 to 36 feet across and 80+ feet long. They are much more spacious than most houses. They are like a house, cut in half, and placed on wheels to be moved.
I am thinking of starting the book any time now. I’m sure in the coming year, I’ll get plenty of material for it.
          Thanks for the comment!
